The Trips
Steelhead Fishing
On a typical day we would meet in a town close to the fishing destination and all pile into my vehicle for the drive to the put-in boat ramp. Starting at about 7:30 we will float and fish for at least 8 hours, including a lunch stop on the river, on a full day trip and for at least 4 hours on a half day trip. You will be able to choose between traditional flyfishing or you can use a spinning rod with a bug and bubble setup.
Trout Fishing
Trout fishing on the Rogue River would be the same as steelheading except when the trout are rising you probably won’t want to use the spinning rod. You would be dry fly fishing primarily.
For lakes we would fish out of the drift boat. I can accommodate flyfishing or spin fishing.
Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Smallies on the Umpqua River can be caught by all means of fishing, but fly fishing is the most exciting.
Smallmouth on the lakes can also be targeted by any of the fishing methods.
Other Types of Trips Available
Photography - If you like to capture scenery, wildlife, or simply patterns in nature, I can guide you to some wonderful river or lake photo opportunities.
Bird Watching - Whether gently drifting down the Rogue River watching Eagles, Ospreys, Herons, Kingfishers and all kinds of waterfowl or cruising silently through the reeds on Klamath Lake observing Plebes, Pelicans, and many varieties of waterbirds, you will get a quality close-up opportunity to observe the bird life.
Siteseeing - Just sit back and enjoy the ride on the beautiful Rogue River in a drift boat made especially for mild whitewater without getting wet, so anytime of the year is good (spring and fall are the best). See birds, mammals and fish as well as see the pretty backyards of waterfront estates. You would not only see the part of the river the rafters see, but also some of the river they don’t see.
